Open Call

BRASART is a partner in various Erasmus+ exchanges that bring together international professionals around applied theater. The Social Actoriality research project in Bologna (Italy) is one such exchange, and it takes place from June 19 to July 1, 2025. Accommodation, transport, and meals will be covered by the Hospites Teatro organization.

For this exchange, I am looking for two Belgian physical performers. I’m looking for people that are active as actors and/or theatre trainers for young people (13-30 years old) and that have at least a basic knowledge of English. They will collaborate in an international group of ten people. It is important that the selected candidates subsequently apply the methodologies they developed in Bologna in Belgium. They should do so sometime in July, August, September, or October with a group of young people aged 13 to 30.

Candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as possible, but no later than April 7, by emailing Brasart. Feel free to reach out for more information.

About the project

The goal of this Training Course, funded by the Erasmus+ programme, is to train 10 actors, working with young people, on Social Actoriality. This is a theatrical approach, which we are exploring and continuing to structure within our company, that focuses on acting skills that manifest themselves in a social context, i.e. also in those moments that are not commonly considered artistic.

This process, which also aims to improve performance on stage, goes through a deep analysis of oneself as an individual, as well as of the socio-cultural context in which one has grown up and the habits and clichés one has internalised.

The course, therefore, will not only offer the opportunity to learn more about the Social Actoriality approach, but will also be a place to define how to disseminate this method among young people from different local contexts, also reflecting on the positive impact this could have on them.

Planned activities

The training course will last 11 days and will take place in Bologna, in the venue of Hospites Teatro, and will be managed by the applicant’s staff, with the support of the other participants. As provided for by the Erasmus+ programme, participants will have travel, food and accommodation paid for. Each day will include four 90-minute activity sessions, plus a short evaluation session to monitor the progress of the activities.

After the first day, dedicated to team-building and definition of the rules of cohabitation, the following days will be mainly dedicated to training and reflection on Social Actoriality, to the preparation of short individual sketches and to the creation of a performance, which will take place in Bologna during the final days of the Training. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to meet other realities of the territory and practice with the participants of local courses already held by Hospites Teatro.

The last day of activities, on the other hand, will be dedicated to the evaluation of the course and to the definition of dissemination and multiplication activities.
